Biography

Abigail became Australia's number one female sex symbol in 1972 with her role as virginal blonde Bev Houghton in Number 96. Born Abigail in London in 1948 to a mother of Ceylonese and Dutch Burgher/Eurasian ethnicity, she later emigrated to Australia in 1968 to study civil engineering while acting part-time. She struggled to secure serious roles after leaving the series, appearing instead in sex-comedy films and stage productions.
