Ellen Farner is a former actress and model, born in Germany in 1941, who made her film debut in the 1964 musical "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg." Prior to her screen adaptation, Farner starred in a stage production of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" in 1962.
