Richard Wilson OBE is a Scottish actor, theatre director, and broadcaster born on July 9, 1936, in Greenock, Scotland. He gained fame for playing Victor Meldrew in the BBC sitcom One Foot in the Grave and later portrayed Gaius, the court physician of Camelot, in the BBC drama Merlin. Wilson's career spans repertory theatre and various film roles, including notable appearances in Women Talking Dirty and The Man Who Knew Too Little.
