Biography

Julia Reichert was a pioneering American Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and feminist. A four-time Oscar nominee and winner of the award for American Factory (2020), she co-founded New Day Films and directed numerous critically acclaimed films. Her work spanned over 50 years, earning her a lifetime achievement award from the International Documentary Association, among others. Reichert was also a professor emeritus at Wright State University.
