Julia Laffranque

Biography

Julia Laffranque is a prominent Estonian jurist and judge, serving as a visiting professor of European law and a judge at the European Court of Human Rights from 2011 to 2020. She was appointed as director of programme at the European Law Academy in 2020 and is a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Union Fundamental Rights Agency. A recipient of several honors, including the Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite of France, Laffranque has also been recognized for her expertise as a trainer of judges.
