Before becoming an actress, she worked as a cashier and began her career with starring roles in action films like Six Days, Seven Nights (1998) and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999). She is best known for her supporting role as Detective Rita Ortiz on the ABC crime drama NYPD Blue (2001-2005) and her voice work in Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
