Shemar Moore

Biography

Shemar Franklin Moore was born on April 20, 1970, in Oakland, California, to a mother of Irish and French-Canadian descent and an African American father. He rose to fame with notable roles as Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless, Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds, and Hondo Harrelson on S.W.A.T., all on CBS. Moore's extensive work in film and television has earned him numerous awards, including eight NAACP Image Awards.
