Biography

Ivan Triesault (born Johann Constantin Treisalt; 13 July [O.S. 1 July] 1898 in Reval – January 3, 1980 in Los Angeles) was an Estonian-born American actor who began his stage career at the German Theatre in Tallinn at age 14, before moving to the United States at 18 to train in acting and dance. He worked as a dancer and mime at Radio City Music Hall and appeared in over 130 film and television productions between 1943 and 1969, including notable roles such as Dr. Peter Ulof in "The Amazing Transparent Man" (1960), Gen. Dimitri Langrad in "Jet Pilot" (1957), and appearances in Cry of the Werewolf (1944), Notorious (1946), and The Wild Wild West. He is considered the most successful Estonian actor in Hollywood history, yet remains relatively unknown in his home country.
