Miriam Toews
Biography
Miriam Toews is a Canadian writer of Mennonite descent, born in Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada in 1964. She has written nine books, including A Complicated Kindness and Women Talking, which won the Governor General's Award for Fiction and the Writers' Trust Engel/Findley Award. Her film debut in Silent Light (2007) earned her a nomination for Best Actress at Mexico's Ariel Awards.
