Larry Clark is a photographer and filmmaker born on January 19, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He learned photography from his mother, an itinerant baby photographer, at the age of 14. Clark's work often focuses on youth who engage in subcultures such as surfing, punk rock, or skateboarding, frequently exploring themes of drug use, underage sex, and violence. His notable film "Kids" (1995) cemented his reputation as a filmmaker known for challenging subjects.
