Habib Boufares is a Tunisian actor born on October 18, 1946, in Kalâa Kebira. He gained recognition for his role as Slimane Beji in Abdellatif Kechiche's film "La Graine et le Mulet", which won the César Award in 2008. The character was inspired by Kechiche's late father.
