Biography

Leoš Suchařípa was a Czech actor, dramaturg, translator, and theatre theorist born in Varnsdorf on February 15, 1932. He pursued a career in the arts from an early age, studying at DAMU and GITIS before working as a magazine editor and critic. As a member of the Communist Party, he reevaluated his politics after the August 1968 invasion, shifting to theatre work with the Činoherní klub in Prague and later as dramaturg in Karlovy Vary.
