Biography

Diana Karenne was a Polish film actress and director born on July 4, 1889. She gained international recognition for her role as Maria Mari in the 1927 silent film "Casanova". Her life was tragically cut short when she was injured in an Allied bombing raid on Aachen, Germany in 1940. She died two years later in Lausanne, Switzerland, at the age of 51.
