Pierre Klossowski was a French writer and artist born in Paris on August 9, 1905. As the eldest son of Erich Klossowski and Baladine Klossowska, he drew from his artistic lineage, working with Balthus's brother André Gide on drafts and collaborating with notable figures like Friedrich Nietzsche and the Marquis de Sade on various projects. His literary output includes full-length volumes, essays, and five novels, including a new publication of The 120 Days of Sodom in 1964.
