Luis Sepúlveda

Biography

Luis Sepúlveda was a Chilean writer and journalist, known for his work in the 1998 animated film "La gabbianella e il gatto" and his experiences as a communist militant and opponent of Augusto Pinochet's regime. Imprisoned and tortured by the military dictatorship in the 1970s, Sepúlveda went on to write numerous poetry books and short stories. He was fluent in Spanish and English, and wrote his first novel in English.
