Biography

Jean Clottes is a renowned French prehistorian born in 1933 in the Pyrénées. He began his academic career teaching high school before pursuing his Ph.D. on Neolithic dolmens at the University of Toulouse in 1975. As General Inspector for Archaeology and Scientific Advisor to the French Ministry of Culture, he led excavations and published extensively, receiving honors from both the French government and the Tuareg people.
