Jean-Michel Geneste is a French prehistorian and professor at the university, born on May 29, 1949. In 1985, he defended his Ph.D. thesis on paleontology, which explored human behavior during the Middle Paleolithic era. He has held various prestigious roles, including conservator general of the patrimoine honoraire, director of the Centre national de la préhistoire, and curator of notable sites like Lascaux and Chauvet.
