Biography

Kiyoshi Awazu was a Japanese graphic designer and artist, active in the post-WWII era. He was known for his eclectic and variegated style, blending traditional Japanese art and pop culture with supergraphics and expressive typography. Awazu's work resisted modernist tendencies, instead seeking to extend rural life to the city and reawaken the past through his transdisciplinary and expressive designs.
