Carl Milton Levin was a trailblazing politician and attorney who served as a United States senator from Michigan from 1979 to 2015. As the chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee, he played a significant role in shaping national security policy. Levin also had a distinguished career in public service, serving on the Detroit City Council from 1969 to 1977.
