Mao Kobayashi was a Japanese freelance newscaster and actress born on July 21, 1982, in Ojiya, Niigata. She gained recognition for her roles in Nippon TV's "Koi no kara Sawagi" while still in university and as the weather caster for Fuji TV's Mezamashi Saturday from 2003 to 2006. Kobayashi later became a presenter on Nippon Television Network's News Zero program, before retiring to focus on raising a family.
