Biography

Nydia Caro is a Puerto Rican-American singer and actress born in New York City to parents from Rincón, Puerto Rico. She began her career at a young age and released her debut single, "Ask Me What I Want for Christmas," in 1964. In the 1970s, she won the Festival de la Canción in Colombia with her song "Hermano tengo frío" and co-hosted a popular teen show on Channel 2.
