Biography

Mircea Diaconu was a Romanian actor and politician born on December 24, 1949. He began his career in theater with Bulandra Theater in Truman Capote's The Grass Harp (1970) and later appeared in over sixty films throughout the 2000s. Diaconu took part in the Romanian Revolution of 1989 and entered electoral politics in 2008, becoming a senator and Member of the European Parliament. He ran for president in 2019.
