Biography

Guy Ernest Debord was a French Marxist theorist, philosopher, and filmmaker who co-founded the Situationist International and wrote the influential work "The Society of the Spectacle" in 1967. A prolific writer and filmmaker, Debord's work critiqued consumer culture and modern society, drawing on his experiences as a young man during World War II and the French war in Algeria. His ideas continue to influence contemporary thought and art.
