Solomon Perel

Biography

Solomon Perel was a German-born Israeli author and motivational speaker born on April 21, 1925, in Peine, Germany. He escaped Nazi persecution by masquerading as an ethnic German, relocating to Poland in 1935, and later fleeing to the Soviet-occupied part of Poland, where he was placed in an orphanage. His life story inspired the 1990 film Europa Europa, which was loosely based on his autobiography.
