Biography

Brigitte Lin Ching-Hsia is a Taiwanese actress born on November 3, 1954. She rose to stardom in the 1970s with romantic heroine roles in Taiwan and later achieved great success in Hong Kong with her androgynous roles in wuxia films. Her most notable collaborations include works with Tsui Hark, including Peking Opera Blues. Lin retired from acting in 1994 after marrying businessman Michael Ying and went on to write essay collections before receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 60th Golden Horse Awards.
