Biography

Holger Boland was a Danish operatic bass singer and influential figure in Danish opera for multiple generations. He debuted at Det Kongelige Teater in 1936 and went on to perform in over 125 opera productions, showcasing his mastery of buffo roles. A co-founder of Den Jyske Opera in 1947, he also directed and produced numerous productions, including the 1984 film "Midt om natten," where he played the iconic vagabond Tusindfryd.
