Biography

Mireille Mathieu was born on July 22, 1946, in Avignon, France, to a family of 14 children. Her childhood was marked by poverty and dyslexia, which she overcame with the support of her father's operatic voice and later singing lessons. She rose to fame as a young woman, abandoning education at age 14 to pursue a career in music, and has since become one of France's most successful singers, recording over 1,200 songs and selling over 122 million records worldwide.
