Hubert von Meyerinck

Biography

Hubert von Meyerinck was born in Potsdam on August 23, 1896, to a military family, and showed an early interest in acting despite his parents' wishes. He transitioned from stage work to film in the 1920s, becoming a popular character actor with distinctive roles as aristocrats and eccentrics, before maintaining his popularity through comedies in the 1950s and 1960s. He appeared in over 250 films before receiving a lifetime achievement award at the German Film Prize in 1968.
