Stepanida Borissova

Biography

Stepaniada Borissova is a Yakut actress and singer who has made notable appearances in Russian and Mongolian cinema. In 2009, she portrayed Oelun, the mother of Genghis Khan, in the film "By the Will of Chingis Khan." She also staged a solo performance titled "Old Woman" at the Moscow Theatre, drawing from the prose of Harms. Borissova has been recognized as a People's Artist of Russia and Yakutia since 2001 and 2006, respectively.
