Biography

Balaji Sakthivel is an Indian actor and director of Tamil films, best known for directing the 2004 film Kaadhal, which earned him instant recognition. He began his career as an assistant director to S. Shankar and later won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil for his 2012 film Vazhakku Enn 18/9. Sakthivel made his on-screen debut in Dhanush's Asuran and has been signed for roles in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: I and Vaanam Kottatum.
