Biography

Joseph Patrick Cranshaw was an American character actor born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, who began entertaining troops as a member of the Army Air Forces before World War II. He started his screen acting career in 1955 with uncredited roles and didn't receive his first credited film role until age 41 in The Amazing Transparent Man (1960). Cranshaw's mild-mannered demeanor led to notable roles in films like Bonnie and Clyde, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and Pee-wee's Big Adventure. His 2003 appearance as Joseph "Blue" Pulaski in Old School brought him pop-culture status.
