Biography

Dr. Mario Theissen is a former BMW Motorsport Director and team principal of BMW Sauber, where he led the team to consecutive second-place finishes in the World Constructors Championship from 2007 to 2009. He played a key role in establishing BMW's Formula One program, including a notable victory at the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix. Theissen retired from F1 in 2009 and remained as BMW Motorsport Director until his departure in June 2011.
