She rose to fame as a member of the pop group Candies, later transitioning to an acting career with notable roles in films like Godzilla vs. Biollante and Black Rain, earning her the Hochi Film Award for Best Actress. Her personal life included a marriage to businessman Kazuo Odate and a close relationship with actress Masako Natsume.
