Tomoko Matsunashi

Biography

Tomoko Matsunashi is a Japanese film director and actress born on April 14, 1971, in Hiroshima. She was drawn to theatre from an early age and attended Waseda University, where she became part of an independent theatre group and developed an interest in film. Her debut feature, the 1995 short "To Be or Not to Be," won an Encouragement Prize at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival, marking her entry into Japanese cinema.
