Avi Grainik

Biography

Avi Grainik was born in Haifa to a family of modest means, losing his father at age 13 when he passed away in an electrical accident. He joined the youth movement in Haifa at 17 and met his future partner, Idan Altman, while competing in a talent show, the two began performing together until 1988. After serving in the military, Grainik started his comedy career with Altman, who would later become a close friend and collaborator.
