Karen Breece is a US-American theater director living and working in Germany. She develops politically documentary theater projects, focusing on independent research and incorporating everyday experts into her productions. Her work also explores sensitive portrayals of historical sites and contemporary spaces beyond traditional theaters. Since 2006, she has worked as a freelance director, collaborating with institutions like the Berliner Ensemble and Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz.
