Carlos DeLuna was an American man convicted of murder and executed by the State of Texas for killing Wanda Lopez, a 24-year-old gas station attendant, in 1983. His case gained international attention after an investigation in 2012 raised doubts about his guilt, suggesting that Carlos Hernandez was the actual murderer. In 2021, DeLuna's case was featured in the documentary film "The Phantom". DeLuna himself confessed to being present at the murder but refused to identify the actual killer.
