Biography
Maestro Fresh Wes, born Wesley Williams on March 31, 1968, is a Canadian rapper, singer, record producer, and actor of Afro-Guyanese heritage. He achieved mainstream success as one of the earliest Canadian rappers and was credited with the debut album Symphony in Effect (1989), Canada's first certified platinum album by a Black artist. A pioneering figure in hip-hop, Williams has been recognized for his contributions to the genre, including 2023 induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
