Biography

Su Tong is a renowned Chinese novelist born January 23, 1963, in Suzhou. He began publishing novels in 1983 and is known for his acclaimed yet controversial writing style. His most notable works include the adapted film "Raise the Red Lantern" (1990) by Zhang Yimou, as well as translations of his novella "Rice" and other stories into English.
