Biography

Daniel Schmid was a Swiss theatre and film director, whose notable works include "Igraham in 'Der amerikanische Freund'" (1977). His film "Beresina, or the Last Days of Switzerland" screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival. A documentary about his life, "Daniel Schmid - Le chat qui pense", premiered at the Frameline Film Festival in San Francisco in 2011.
