Biography

Jerzy Kosiński was a Polish-American novelist and two-time President of the American Chapter of P.E.N., known for novels like "Being There" and "The Painted Bird", which were adapted into films in 1979 and 2019, respectively. His early life was marked by survival during World War II under a false identity. A celebrated wit and media celebrity, Kosiński's literary career was marred by plagiarism accusations, including those levied against his most autobiographical work.
