William O'Malley

Biography

William O'Malley was a renowned priest, teacher, and author who made his mark on the silver screen as Father Joseph Kevin Dyer in William Friedkin's The Exorcist (1973). Born in Buffalo, New York, he attended Canisius High School and graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1953. O'Malley taught at several institutions before being let go due to his "confrontational style." He later became a professor of theology at Seattle University.
