Martha Burns

Biography

Martha Burns is a Canadian actress known for her stage work and youth outreach in Ontario, including leading roles at Stratford and the Shaw Festival. She co-founded Toronto's Soulpepper Theatre Company and headed its extensive youth outreach program, which earned her recognition for her community engagement. Burns has won two Gemini Awards for her portrayal of Ellen Fanshaw in Slings and Arrows.
