Biography

Mark Brandon "Chopper" Read was a convicted Australian criminal and author, born to an army veteran father of Irish descent. He grew up in Melbourne's Collingwood and Fitzroy suburbs, experiencing childhood trauma including bullying and molestation. His notorious street fighting skills led him to become the leader of the Surrey Road gang, graduating to more serious crimes from a young age.
