Billy Hayes is a writer, actor, and film director born on April 3, 1947, in the Bronx, New York City. He gained international attention for his memoir Midnight Express, recounting his experiences as a U.S. citizen convicted of smuggling hashish in a Turkish prison. After serving time, Hayes dropped out of college to travel and focus on writing, later leveraging his notoriety to secure roles like The Stepfather in "The Truth" (2014).
