Jason Newsted

Biography

Jason Curtis Newsted was born on March 4, 1963, in Battle Creek, Michigan. He rose to fame as the bassist of Metallica from 1986 to 2001, performing on several albums and contributing to the band's heavy metal sound. After leaving Metallica, he went on to front his own band Newsted and toured with notable acts such as Ozzy Osbourne.
