Biography

Stig 'Stikkan' Anderson was a Swedish music manager and songwriter born on January 25, 1931, in Hova. He co-founded Polar Music with Bengt Bernhag in 1963, signing the Hootenanny Singers, including Björn Ulvaeus, and later formed ABBA with Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog, and Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad. Anderson's music business legacy endures through the Polar Music Prize, founded by him in 1992. He died of a heart attack in 1997 at age 66.
