Alex Gibney

Biography

Philip Alexander Gibney was born on October 23, 1953, in New York City. He has established himself as a prominent documentary film director and producer, with notable works including Taxi to the Dark Side, which won him an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2007. His subsequent films have included Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, winning three Emmys in 2015, and Citizen K, released in 2019 about Russian President Vladimir Putin and Mikhail Khodorkovsky.
