Desmond Nakano is a Sansei American film director and screenwriter born in 1953. He made his mark with critically acclaimed films like "Last Exit to Brooklyn" (1989) and "American Me" (1992), both of which showcased his ability to tackle tough, dramatic subjects. In recent years, Nakano has continued to write and direct thought-provoking content, including the 2017 film "Betty: They Say I'm Different", a personal and powerful self-portrait.
