Philippe Muyl is a French filmmaker, writer, and producer born on May 30, 1953, in Lille, France. He began his career in advertising, working for Publicis and Elvinger, before transitioning to filmmaking, producing industrial and institutional films. Muyl made his feature film debut with the 1984 adaptation of Nikos Athanassiadis' "L'Arbre sous la mer", followed by the critically acclaimed "Cuisine et dépendances" in 1993.
